The Alternative Alphabet

A...is for Akari. Obviously.

B...Balance is what happiness is all about.

C...Co-sleeping comes naturally to us.

D...Daughters. I have two three. They are the most beautiful and wondrous creatures...most of the time.

E...Equality. For everyone; men, women, gay, straight, black, white...we're in this together people.

F...Family. There is nothing more important to me than mine.

G...Green. I try to live it without making myself crazy.

H...Homebirthing. I gave birth to both all three of my babies at home;that's how we do it around here.

I...International. I'd love to live in another country for a few years. How else am I going to learn to speak a different language? It's on my bucket list.

J...Joe. He's my better half. And really cute. And smart. And funny!

K...Kettle full of tea, a good book and some cookies. Ahhhhh, perfection.

L...Love.

M...Maryland, where we live now. (Actually, we moved to Kauai. Guess I need a new alphabet!)
       (and another move...now we're on Oahu, back to where it all started)

N...Never say never.

O...Oahu, at the University of Hawaii is where Joe and I met 10 years ago.

P...Parenting is the best (and worst ) job I've ever had.

Q...Quickly. Life seems to fly by these days, ever since the babies starting arriving.

R...Resilience is a quality I've come to admire.

S...Surfing together is how Joe and I got to know each other. Also Sweet tooth, I have a big one!

T...Time. It's free but priceless.

U...USA. I think a True Patriot criticizes her country and believe me, I have some gripes...for both sides!

V...Valley Isle; a nickname for Maui, where I grew up.

W...Wolf pack. It's Joe's nickname for our little family.

X...X-Chromosomes. We have quite a few around here.

Y...Why? Is a wonderful question. I hope I'll always remember to keep asking it.

Z...Zzzzzzzzz's are over-rated. I'll sleep when I'm dead.
